Quick Bid is the takeoff seat’s estimate
People type “QuickBid alternative” when the current software stops at the takeoff. That is close enough to the desk to be useful, and precise enough to correct. ConstructConnect Quick Bid is estimating software. The quantities usually live in On-Screen Takeoff and pass into Quick Bid as conditions. Labor, material, and the bid price are built there. That is a real job. It is the quantity and the number.
It is not the full tender. A mandatory site visit in Division 01, a spec that disagrees with the drawing, an exclusion buried under a vendor total, an addendum that reached the folder and not the person pricing — those are not a takeoff condition. Quick Bid is not sold as that reading. Saying so is scope. It is not a claim that Quick Bid is bad software.
ArosBid includes takeoff and estimate and replaces Trimble AutoBid. Then it stays on the pursuit: the tender is read, every number is recomputed in integer-cent code, scope gaps are flagged, and a human approves the send. During training, nothing leaves without a recorded decision.
Who should switch, and who should not
Switch if you are a specialty trade contractor — mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, or steel — and the Quick Bid seat ends when the estimate exists. The rest of the week is still Outlook, a share drive, and a workbook built in the last hour. You want one workspace for the takeoff, the tender, the vendor quotes, and the approval.
Do not switch if the only job you need done is quantities plus an estimate from those quantities, and you already trust a separate process for the front end and for leveling. Stay. Do not switch if you are a general contractor looking for a bid board. BuildingConnected, PlanHub, SmartBid, Dodge, ConstructConnect, and Procore are invite or document sources. They are not this seat. Do not switch because a page promised your Quick Bid database would land overnight. We have not published that import.
