[ Takeoff and estimating ]

Takeoff and estimating software. AutoBid’s job, one desk.

Trimble AutoBid is takeoff and estimating software. ArosBid includes both and replaces that seat. Then it runs the bid after the quantities exist. Trade desk. Not a GC board.

One seat for quantities and the number.

AutoBid’s published job is takeoff and estimate together. This table keeps that honest and shows what ArosBid also runs. It is not an AutoBid defect list.

What you can check on a walkthrough.

Three claims that are architecture, not a pitch. None of them is a customer story we do not have.

  1. 01One URL for AutoBid’s actual job

Takeoff and estimate are not two marketing pages glued together. They are the seat AutoBid is built for. ArosBid replaces that seat.

  2. 02Trade desk, not GC

The person who measures and prices is the trade estimator. This is not construction bid management for a general contractor shopping subs.

  3. 03Then the bid after

Quantities and the estimate are the start of a pursuit that still has to be read, decided, quoted, leveled, and submitted. That work stays here.

AutoBid’s job was never takeoff alone

Trimble AutoBid is takeoff and estimating software. Quantities and the estimate live in the same seat. That is the published job. People still search the two words separately, and they search them together. This URL is the together page. It exists so “takeoff and estimating software” lands on a trade desk that actually does both, not on a GC bid board and not on a takeoff-only brochure.

ArosBid includes takeoff and estimate and replaces Trimble AutoBid. The named comparison, with alternative and replacement in the title, is vs AutoBid. This page does not reprint that table. It states the job in the words estimators type when they are not searching a vendor name.

Trimble Estimation MEP is the current Trimble MEP estimating product. If that is the name on your renewal, the MEP hub is MEP estimating software. Replacement language on this site stays AutoBid. We will not invent a vs-Estimation-MEP defect list.

Trade desk. The estimator carries both halves.

Takeoff without an estimate is a count. An estimate without takeoff is a guess with a total. On a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, or steel desk, the same person usually owns both, or sits close enough that the seam is a conversation, not a software integration project. That person is the audience. The role page is for estimators.

This is not construction estimating for a general contractor building a master bid. It is not a plan room. Procore, BuildingConnected, SmartBid, PlanHub, Dodge, and ConstructConnect are invite or document sources. They connect. They are not takeoff and estimating software. The audience split is trade contractor bid software.

STACK, McCormick, and FastEST are other takeoff tools in the market. They can be named on a page about this aisle. They are not displace targets. There is no vs-STACK page. There is no vs-Autodesk Takeoff page. If your office already runs one of those for quantities, this site will not tell a story we cannot stand on. The story we will stand on is AutoBid replacement, takeoff included.

Why the two words belong on one URL

Splitting takeoff from estimating is how a five-percent-light count becomes a number nobody can rebuild. The quantity lives in one file. The labor lives in another. The equipment quote lives in a PDF. The bid form lives in a third folder. Close day, someone copies. That copy is where the bid breaks even when the takeoff was careful.

ArosBid keeps the pursuit identity intact from the invitation through the estimate and into the rest of the cycle. The MEP takeoff framing of the same product is MEP takeoff software — and that page says, in the H1, that takeoff is here because we replace AutoBid, and that we are not a STACK replacement. Use that URL if the search is takeoff. Use this one if the search is the combined job.

Industry pages stay specific. Equipment and controls on mechanical. Gear and feeders on electrical. Medical gas and site utilities on plumbing. NDL, uplift, and tear-off on roofing. Delegated design and miscellaneous metals on steel. This page is the seat those trades share: quantities and the number, together.

Empty conference table after hours. No screens.

The bid does not end when the estimate exists

AutoBid is not sold as document review, bid/no-bid, vendor RFQ, or leveling. That is a scope fact. It is not a defect. ArosBid also runs those stages because a correct estimate still has to become a bid that can be opened. Eligibility in the front end. Addenda after pricing starts. Vendor cover totals that do not match their own lines. Those problems are documented on this site without turning them into an AutoBid crash list.

Tender review is AI tender review. The inbound addendum log is missed addenda. RFQs go out from construction vendor RFQ. Quotes come back to vendor quote leveling. The category hub for that sheet is AI bid leveling. The process after the ITB is construction bid management software. Walk the ten stages on platform. Compare the manual desk on Compare.

None of those pages invent a customer story. Riverside Office Tower is fictional demo data, used so a walkthrough and a published page can be checked against each other. The stills on this page are existing ranking-page photographs. We do not generate new product shots for a URL.

Labor, equipment, and the commercial quotes in between

Estimating, once quantities exist, is labor, equipment, and the quotes you still have to collect. Installed hours. Lead times. A factory test that is in the spec and not in the vendor’s number. None of that is takeoff. All of it is why AutoBid’s job was two words, not one. ArosBid keeps those two words on one desk and then keeps going: the RFQ, the level, the proposal, the readiness check. That continuation is not an AutoBid insult. It is the rest of the week.

Roofing estimating on this site stays commercial: NDL warranty, uplift, tear-off. It is not a residential roof CRM. Steel estimating includes delegated design and miscellaneous metals. Those industry pages are linked above. This URL stays on the shared seat.

Money, instance, what this page will not invent

Every extension, sum, reconciliation, and allowance uses deterministic integer-cent code. No language model prices the job. Isolated instance. Own database and document store. Own subdomain. Microsoft Entra ID. During training, nothing leaves without a recorded human approval. Takeoff and estimate do not send. The RFQ that uses them waits for a person.

No win rates. No savings percentages. No hidden-fee story about AutoBid. No version list. No fake estimate screenshot. The claim is the product includes takeoff and estimate and replaces Trimble AutoBid. The walkthrough is the proof. Book a live demo if you want to see both halves on one pursuit.

Empty estimator office. Plans and a desk. No product chrome.

[ FAQ ]

Asked on the first call.

Is takeoff-and-estimating just AutoBid’s job?

Yes. Trimble AutoBid is takeoff and estimating software. This URL exists so that job has one page. ArosBid includes takeoff and estimate and replaces Trimble AutoBid. The named comparison is /vs-autobid.

Do you replace STACK or McCormick?

No. STACK, McCormick, and FastEST are other takeoff tools in the market. We name them. We do not claim them. There is no vs-STACK page.

Is this for general contractors?

No. Trade desks only. If you want the split from GC bid-management software, read /trade-contractor-bid-software. Invite sources are BuildingConnected, PlanHub, Dodge, ConstructConnect, SmartBid, and Procore. They connect. They are not this seat.

Where does MEP-specific estimating live?

/mep-estimating-software is the MEP hub. It names Trimble Estimation MEP as the current Trimble MEP estimating product. /mep-takeoff-software is the takeoff framing of the same product, and says it is not a STACK replacement.

Are named jobs on this page real?

No. Riverside Office Tower and the other walkthrough pursuits are fictional demo data and labeled as such. Photographs are existing ranking-page stills.

Empty lobby corridor at night. No signage.
